The Mazzoni Center is a locally developed regional center serving the LGBTQ community in Philadelphia with services including primary care, counseling, therapy, HIV prevention and education and legal services. It additionally provides training and resources to both residents in this community and professionals serving this community. Previously located across multiple and scattered locations throughout the city, this new center consolidates all services into a central location.
The new 50,000 SF center includes a 15,000 SF primary care clinic with laboratory and non-invasive procedures on site, plus a full floor dedicated to therapy and counseling for individuals, couples and groups. Healthcare services are supported by an in-house pharmacy located on the ground level, with services and inventory dedicated to the healthcare needs of this population. A main community room with adjacent catering kitchen and roof deck with views of the city center are located on the third floor. The top floor is dedicated to administrative services and support.
The site was originally occupied by a two-story General Services Administration building. This new building utilizes portions of that building skin and floor assemblies, but punches through existing structure with new columns and foundations for the upper two floors and roof.
